for this project, i served as cd and lead graphic designer. conceptualized and developed visual identity of the project - cover, photo assets, flyers, stickers, release event

design concept: using vibrant colors and ai composition, visually create a world that feels fun and endless to translate the significance of a park to a kid.. really to all of us. creating a dream world as adventurous as the ep.

cmmnd x ucla

an official apparel collaboration between cmmnd and ucla released in january 2021.

cmmnd became the youngest uc licensee holders alongside the likes of

junya watanabe (ucla - f 2019) and

raf simons (cal - ck 205w39 resort 2019)

in this collection, i developed the design concept and roll-out strategy with a team, designed the graphic tee, and designed/produced a magazine.

design concept: a contemporary spin on ucla’s iconic marks like retro joe bruin and dunking joe bruin from the 70’s. paying homage to throwback collegiate style. with a foot both in the past and present, cmmnd x ucla captures the ongoing fascination with nostalgic fashion while creating a new gender-neutral uniform for today’s youth.

inspired by cmmnd’s mission to promote the message that everyone is a creative within. this is the first time we see joe bruin’s creative side, representing the creative students of ucla.

cmmnd's second flagship ep, "2" released in april 2021.

serving as creative director and lead graphic designer, i designed and produced the front cover, tracklist cover, artist highlights, roll-out graphic content, stickers, postcards, and merch graphics/video. 

design concept: a visual representation of cmmnd’s 3 recording artists’ differing musical identities through colors and photos, highlighting their dualities as individuals and as a collective

in ideating the direction of the visual aspect of the ep, i wanted to highlight cmmnd's ability to create mixtures of sounds and styles while maintaining cohesion. something dark but colorful at the same time.

as the y2k aesthetic popularizes, I wanted to incorporate an airbrushed design into the collection in addition to the pink/blue palette

in creating the overall aesthetic of this project, I wanted it to feel like a diy project feel mixed with a rockband-style look. 

this inspired the text inconsistencies and cut-and-paste collage mixed with the scanned-ink-bleed look.
